Italy Tax Bonuses in 2023:

Millie Owen

Some positive news to beat those January blues…

Every year the Italian government rolls out a wide range of tax deductions as part of a scheme to boost the economy and support residents (and those wanting to move!)

From cinema tickets to buying your first home, you could end up saving yourself thousands of euros!

A few of these bonuses include:

The Super Bonus - A tax deduction of up to 110 percent of the cost of renovation work.

Eco Bonus - Any work carried out to improve the energy efficiency of your home, for instance improving insulation or installing solar panels will mean you can claim a significant amount of the costs back.

First Home Bonus - People buying their first residential home in Italy may be eligible for reductions on registration, mortgage and land registry tax, as well as a lower rate of VAT.

Culture Bonus - A €500 payment made to young people on their 18th birthday to spend on books, museum and cinema tickets and other culture-linked items will be means-tested from 2023.

The schemes are estimated to benefit 6.2 million people across Italy, up from 5.2 million in 2022.
